Welcome to Day 6! You’re 1/3 of the way through the series! We hope your perspective on fear is starting to change for the better. Today we get into some very practical advice on dealing with the crippling effects of anxiety and panic attacks. This is a good one!

Read (from the New Living Translation)

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Go Deep

Before going into a songwriting session, Jasmine Murray suffered from a panic attack. This had been going on for a while and she hadn’t opened up about it. But that day, everything changed and something beautiful came from it. If you’ve ever suffered from anxiety, Jasmine’s video is for you!

This is the song that Jasmine wrote that day in the songwriting session. It’s called, “Fearless.”

Notes from the Life Application Study Bible

We’re all encouraged by a leader who stirs us to move ahead, someone who believes we can do the task he has given and who will be with us all the way. God is that kind of leader. He knows the future, and his plans for us are good and full of hope. As long as God, who knows the future, provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission, we can have boundless hope. This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion.

Saying a prayer for him today! That’s rough. I hope Jasmine’s words and these verses are an encouragement to both of you!

My husband got arrested for felony 4 drug charge. He bonded himself out of jail on 4/4. We still need to get our taxes done. He text me and said we could do it jointly. He is not talking to me on phone. Well to prevent fraud they want some info that only he has on his driver’s license. He is ignoring me. I do not even know where he is. So I can’t get taxes done. If I file separately, then I owe 3000. Which I do not have. I fear about not being able to pay or to… Read more »

Oh megan that sounds overwhelming. Praying for the Spirit to guide you in wisdom and for you to have the courage to obey whatever he asks you to do. He will continue to provide everything you need… nothing is too big for him! I’m impressed with the faith it takes to come on here and comment with your story… He is already working in you!

Megan, praying for your family and finances! I am sorry you are walking through a tough time! 4/4 is my daughter’s birthday. That is what made your comment stand out to me. I am glad you wrote that! Glad that you are part of WBSG!

I also fear that I will get a call saying my husband has overdosed and is gone. I am struggling with keeping my faith and trusting in the Lord to do HIS will. Happy belated birthday to your daughter

I like how she experienced anxiety while she was with godly people who could immediately intervene and help. God showed up through them and cared for her. Within the last week I have felt anxiety 2-3 times… increase in heart rate, closing throat, trouble breathing, irrational “what if” thoughts invading my mind and clouding my judgement… I’m 30 and never struggled with this before. I happen to be seeing a biblical counselor to gain assertiveness in my relationships, but I know that God allowed me to experience anxiety at this time, while I was seeing her, so she could guide… Read more »

That is actually really beautiful. While it doesn’t necessarily keep the fear or anxious feelings from happening, I truly believe your community is your secret weapon! We all need Godly people in our lives to point us to Jesus, help carry us through hard times, and give us a new perspective and guidance when we can’t see. I love this example of that. Thank you for sharing on here and being such a vibrant and awesome part of this group, Allyss!! 😊

How profound…”I may continue to struggle but I trust that God won’t leave me alone.” Allyss, I love you and have never met you. You helped me get out of bed and you showed me love when I wasn’t getting it from anyone else. You really are a strong woman and I truly believe you can/will overcome this. I can’t imagine you being anything but a positive light in any relationship. Know that I’ll be praying about your anxiety because I know all to well how debilitating it is. Love you more than you know 🙂

I experience panic more and more! I’m afraid to answer to door. I’m afraid to answer the phone. I’m afraid to leave the house because I’m afraid of being evicted. On Friday, my apartment held a fire inspection and I didn’t know it. The fire alarm was going off and I was afraid to leave my home. I heart almost burst open. I was so overwhelmed with fear. I couldn’t see. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t walk. All because I was paralyzed with fear. I didn’t know if my building was on fire and I was to afraid to leave… Read more »

Timely even if early. I am not fearless – when I fly! I haven’t had to fly since I changed jobs in 2001. Last week I bought a round-trip ticket. From Alabama to California so I can visit my brother. We haven’t seen each other since our mother died over a year ago. I am late 50s, he is early 60s. And I love him more than I fear flying. So in August I will board that plane and fly!

Rebie WAY-FM

Oh, Anita you can do this!! Remember Jesus is with you and you have nothing to fear. Look to him always, but especially when you board that plane, girl! How exciting and joyful it will be to see your brother!! I’m rooting for you and saying a prayer for you today, Anita. Glad you’re part of this group and thanks for sharing!

This entire study on fear has been exactly what I need. On April 4th, our neighbors house was broken into. And that night they let us know so we can be aware. I had the first full blown panic attack that I have had in years. I couldn’t see, I couldn’t breathe. I have been so fearful that someone would break into our home. And especially while we are home. This study came exactly when needed for me. I have been struggling with so much fear regarding the break in. Thank you!

Wow, Whitney, that would be pretty scary! I’m SO glad you’re here. I know that these stories and verses, even if just a little bit of a time, can have a huge impact. Because they’re all pointing back to where our peace and confidence comes from – GOD! He is so with you even when you feel panic. I’m really glad you’re here and I so appreciate you sharing. You’re not alone in that at all!

Thank you for sharing! I struggle with mild social anxiety, and hate to go anywhere on my own. This weekend I tried, but ended up just crying in my car after being there only an hour because I couldn’t get up the nerve to interact with the strangers who were already happy with their own friends and social communities. It’s a vicious cycle– I have few friends because I’m too afraid to to talk to others, but I struggle to find opportunities to talk to others because I don’t want to go to things without friends. I want to be… Read more »

I’ve always struggled with fear. Fear of change, fear of failure, fear of disappointing people. Several years ago I started having panic attacks, especially in the mornings that would leave me paralyzed and unable to get out of bed. I’ve found that stress situations usually trigger it, but being a vet tech most days are chaotic and stressful. Listening to Way FM every morning on my way to work has been a huge help for me and helps me face the day ahead with joy in my heart. Thank yuh Way FM for your ministry and this small group!

Just what I needed to hear and to be reminded of. Thank you! I have been overwhelmed with trying to “deal” with my son’s issues – he is homeless, had problems with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, addiction. It breaks my heart every day (for the last 20 years) watching my son’s struggles. I pray him daily, but it still hurts tremendously to see your adult child unhappy and unproductive. Thank you for the reminder that God is working behind the scenes and that he is with both myself and my son at all times – He will get us through.

I suffer from social anxiety. I recently started a new job and every single day I want to throw up because I feel like “the new girl” who does not know what she is doing. Please pray for me to get stronger and become better with dealing with my anxiety. I constantly feel like no body likes me I know it is just my brain, but its very hard to overcome.

Thank you for this! In a few hours, I will be having my very first MRI and I have been getting in my peaceful mode. Thank you for reminding me to not have the spirit of fear.

I used to love the verse JEREMIAH 29:11 until so many young christians around me, full of hope for the future, were tragically killed. Did God not mean this verse for them?
